Belmont Pier / Long Beach

Sitting just inside the Long Beach breakwater, Belmont Pier sees calmer water than the open-coast piers, which makes for comfortable bait fishing for mackerel and bonito, with sand bass showing up over the surrounding flats. CDFW and the City of Long Beach still run a kids fishing rodeo here. Night lights pull queenfish and the odd leopard shark.
