El Dorado Park Lakes, Long Beach

A chain of lakes inside El Dorado Regional Park. CDFW plants catchable rainbows in the cool months, and the park has hosted Long Beach youth fishing derbies at Area 2 Lake. Catfish, bluegill, bass, and carp fill the rest of the year. Park entry fees and lake-specific rules (which lake is open, which is closed) change — read the kiosk, not a five-year-old forum post.

What you'll find here

CDFW trout plant water. Fishing in the City youth derbies run at Area 2 Lake.

Regulations reminder

Size limits, bag limits, seasons, and MPA rules are set by CDFW and can change in-season. Public-pier license exceptions (CCR 1.88) apply only on qualifying structures — not on the beach next to them. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with CDFW.
