Jackson Lake

A small mountain lake in the Angeles National Forest, Jackson Lake is one of the few LA County waters CDFW still plants with catchable trout into late spring and again in fall. It is a different trip from a city park: forest road, elevation, and a real chance of a full plant-week crowd. Check Forest Service access and fire restrictions before you go.

What you'll find here

Angeles National Forest lake. CDFW plants trout into the warm months more than the Basin lakes.

Regulations reminder

Size limits, bag limits, seasons, and MPA rules are set by CDFW and can change in-season. Public-pier license exceptions (CCR 1.88) apply only on qualifying structures — not on the beach next to them. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with CDFW.
