Venice Pier

Venice Pier runs a long way out past the breakers, giving shore-bound anglers a legitimate shot at halibut that would otherwise require a boat. Surfperch and mackerel are the steady, reliable producers here, especially around the pilings and the pier end. CDFW and local groups still use this pier for youth and cleanup events, so weekend crowding is real — go early.
