Shoreline Village Piers, Long Beach

A cluster of short public piers around Rainbow Harbor and Shoreline Village. They fish like a harbor: queenfish, jacksmelt, pile perch, and mackerel around the lights, with a chance at a sand bass or small halibut on the bottom. This is downtown fishing, not a kelp trip — and it is one of the easiest license-free saltwater options in the county for a first-timer.
