Right in the heart of the city, Echo Park Lake is an easy, no-boat-needed urban fishery holding carp, bluegill, green sunfish, and warm-water tilapia — plus cool-season trout when CDFW plants it. A convenient option when a trip out to the reservoirs is not in the cards. Park hours and foot traffic are the constraints, not the bag limits.
Urban lake in the heart of the city. CDFW has listed it on trout plant schedules.
Size limits, bag limits, seasons, and MPA rules are set by CDFW and can change in-season. Public-pier license exceptions (CCR 1.88) apply only on qualifying structures — not on the beach next to them. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with CDFW.
